The vision of the Prayer Ministry is to see prayer become a normal part of our Christian lifestyle, where praying for others and receiving prayer is natural for everyone. We hope that prayer will permeate every aspect of our lives, and every aspect of the Ventura Vineyard — a natural flow of prayer, in which everyone can participate.
Members pray for requests submitted on the blue “communication cards” that are received from our Sunday services. The requests on the cards are sent to the prayer chain via e-mail every Monday. Emergency requests are forwarded to the team as they are received by the church office.
Members are available after each service to pray with those who need prayer.
The Prayer Ministry periodically sponsors special events, such as “Unhurried Days” (a day apart from our busy schedules, where we learn to listen and to hear from God) and “Seven Last Words” (a contemplative, interactive experience during Holy Week that is based upon the seven last phrases that Jesus uttered from the Cross).
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
We believe in a God who acts and speaks. If you believe the Holy Spirit is speaking to you during the service for all gathered here today, you can let us know. A prayer team leader will collect these messages, pray and respond accordingly.
