Ventura Vineyard family and friends,
We just want to take a couple moments to update you on how the Ventura Vineyard is responding to COVID-19 in light of recent updates.
As you know, the news has been changing frequently over the past few days, and the latest recommendation has been for groups of 10 or more to stop meeting. The Ventura Vineyard Leadership Team met last night to discuss what’s in the best interest for the health and safety of our congregation, and to also be a part of helping the community stop the spread.
Effective immediately we are cancelling our in-person Sunday morning services, as well as our small groups, for the remainder of the month of March. However, we are still going to have an online video service this Sunday and next Sunday at 10:00am, using a service called YouTube Premiere, which acts as a sort of “watch party”. You can log in and even chat in real-time while the service plays. This will be a great way for us to still be able to connect to one another and combat the loneliness and isolation of social distancing.
We also want you to know that this affects our church office which will be closed, though our Leadership Team will still be available by email (see our website for contact information). We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any needs or concerns, or if you would like prayer during this stressful time. Our Prayer Team will still be here for you during this time, praying for all who request it. Our app is also a great place to go for updates, or to submit your prayer requests, or to give financially to the Ventura Vineyard in place of giving in-person on a Sunday morning.
Our Care Team is also available during this time and will be doing all within their power to get necessary supplies and resources to those who need it. If you are in need, please feel free to respond to this email and we will put you in touch with our Care Team.
Finally, as we think about this time, maybe we can use this as an opportunity to slow down and spend some quality time with our loved ones in our homes, or take time to call or FaceTime with friends and family we don’t often get to talk with during the busyness of life, and to use this time as well to focus on our faith and spend time with God. We know we’re anxious to be together – it’s what defines us as a community. So let’s pray for a speedy end to this virus and that God would guide us through this.
We want to thank you for your flexibility, for your prayers, and for your support. This is unprecedented territory for us and we want to make sure we are doing whatever we can to help stop the spread. We’ll see you online this Sunday at 10:00am, via the Ventura Vineyard YouTube channel, and we encourage you to follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram for updates.
Grace and peace to all of you,
The Ventura Vineyard Leadership Team
